MAC Lustre Lipstick Review

Cover box of MAC Lustre Lipstick in See Sheer

Tube of the lipstick - so shimmery and pretty!

MAC See Sheer Lipstick

MAC is a brand loved by thousands of women around the globe who love makeup. I love their lip glosses, but these currently aren't available in the store where I used to buy them from, and only lipsticks are stocked now, so I have settled for lipsticks. "See Sheer" is the only MAC lipstick I own right now because these come at a crazy price of $23 here. Still, I got one because I just HAD to have one!

See Sheer is a lustre formula, which means it is glossy, shiny and very moisturising by itself. It is somewhat difficult to apply over a layer of lip balm because the color just seems to slide away and apply unevenly. It melts a little in hot weather and breaks easily, so I'm thinking of buying a matte lipstick next time. It has the typical MAC vanilla fragrance, which I love!

The color is a gorgeous warm orange-coral, and gives a very glossy, summery look to my pout. I love this color and will probably use it for a long time. There's no shimmer or glitter present, so it's suitable for the college and work environment as well. To be completely honest, I wouldn't have liked this so much if it was a matte formula. It's preferable to a matte burnt orange.
The packaging is standard MAC lipstick packaging, a black bullet-shaped tube with silver shimmer. I love the tube because the cap doesn't come off easily no matter how much it has been tossed and turned.

Overall I really like the feel and formula of this lipstick, but will not buy another Lustre formula lipstick again simply because it just melts and breaks. I would recommend this to a friend who can keep their lipstick in the refrigerator, but that's just not me!

Vaseline Lip Therapy Review

Vaseline Lip Therapy in Cherry

Back of the tube

Ingredients and other information

Vaseline Lip Therapy is basically just the purest form of petroleum jelly in a tube for use exclusively on lips. I never use the tub Vaseline on my lips, so I much prefer this when my lips just want some plain Vaseline. This is said to have cherry flavor, but has no distinct flavor to me. It just smells a little fruity. I know mineral oil and petrolatum is bad for our lips, but this helps me so much I can't avoid it! My lips are generally pale pink, but this has improved the color of my lips and made them naturally pink. That is probably one of the main reasons why I love this little tube so much.

The tube is convenient to carry, but has a round tip. I just squeeze out a small amount onto my clean finger and apply this onto wet lips. I really like the tube design, its basic but very cute!

This is a little light, so it's very useful on the Winter days when i just want something light and shiny for my lips. Other than that, I wouldn't use it as a gloss because it doesn't really last very long. The tube cost me $3 here, but i think this would be cheaper elsewhere, especially in the US.

Overall, great product for everyday use or when I just need a quick moisture fix. However, I would've liked a little more lasting power.

Lip Ice Lip Balm Review

Lip Ice Lip Balms in Orange, Lemon and Blueberry

It's Winter, and who can go through it without having to face dry, chapped lips? There are several brands and types of lip balms available in drugstores and everywhere else, but a girl's always on the lookout for something new and exciting to try! Lip Ice is a dream come true for girls who love fruity lip balms with menthol and camphor to cool and soothe chapped lips. It's manufactured by Rohto Mentholatum in Japan, and is apparently Japan's No. 1 lip balm. Lip Ice is available all over Asia, and come in many different forms and flavors. Their motto is "for naughty, flirty lips".

Since the gloss versions aren't available here yet, I had to settle for the balms. Otherwise, I'd grab all the glosses too, the quality is remarkably good! The lip balms come in stick forms and in white tubes with a Lip Ice logo, the flavor name and a small image of the fruit! So adorable! The balm goes on clear and matte, so boys can use it too. These come in four flavors here - strawberry (which I haven't purchased... yet!), lemon (yum!), orange (even yummier!) and blueberry (meh). The blueberry one I'm not very fond of, it smells very fake and gummy. The citrus flavors are too good; yummy citrusy scents mixed with mint!

The formula is extremely light, creamy and moisturising. The menthol provides a cooling sensation for five minutes after application, which is really refreshing. The balm stays upto an hour on my lips. I also love this when I'm just chilling at home because it's so light! Other than that, I love the fact that the date of manufacture and expiry is printed on the bottom of the tube. Always good to know your product is fresh!

I'm planning to get the glosses as soon as they are launched here. Till then, let me know if you've tried Lip Ice, and if you really felt naughty and flirty with it on! ;)

Totally yummy!

Buy of the Week: Lip Ice Orange

Lip Ice is one of my favorite mentholated fruity balms. I've tried the Lemon and Blueberry flavors before and LOVED the Lemon one, so I decided to get myself the Orange one this Winter. I just purchased this today, and after getting a whiff of this I can truly hope for a citrusy lip balm to keep my lips happy for quite a while! I'm still waiting for the lip glosses to be launched and am hoping to be the first to get my hands on them! I'll be reviewing this and the other flavors soon!
