Differences Between MAC Lipsticks From Different Places and Times!

MAC lipsticks come with a label on the bottom, and the font variation shows us that just because MAC products are not uniformly labelled, does not mean they are fake!

Velvet Teddy was made in 2010 in USA.
MAC Red was made in 2011 in Singapore.
Lickable was made in 2012 in Canada.
See Sheer was made in 2010 in Canada.

All of these are from MAC stores (not Pro stores or counters). See how the fonts vary (bold or not bold, distance between name and code). This is proof that MAC does not manufacture every product uniformly, and why should they? You're not paying 4000 taka for a lipstick which you have to with Dior! Hope this is helpful! :)

Makeup Palettes: To Get or Not To Get?

Makeup palettes are literally everywhere! As much as we love little tubes of gloss and tiny pots of eye shadow, they might not always work for us. This is where palettes step in! With a huge variety of colors, you can experiment with different shades to see what works for you. But should you invest in a makeup palette, or just stick to individual favorites? Let's analyze!

Pros:
Makeup companies introduce and sell palettes very often, and there are usually different themes, such as Urban Decay's eye shadow palettes. The contents look so pretty and colorful, it seems like every other palette is a work of art! There's a bit of product in each little section, so you won't have trouble using up some shades. You also get to try different formulas and shades! While some palettes are very standard and contain many shades, some are exclusive and contain about 5-6 shades of eye shadow, blusher, bronzer or lip color. And you get a nice box too!

Cons:
Although makeup palettes can be versatile, individual products have special places in all our hearts. A tube of your favorite lip gloss can be something you love (and perhaps keep beside your pillow while you sleep!) more than a palette full of shades. Because of the congestion, palettes seem to be very messy. A bit of powder from one eye shadow may blow over to a shade of lip gloss. Eek! Because of the general hassle of using such an inconvenient packaging system, palettes are usually not preferred by neat freaks like me. My mom loved using palettes, but even the Lancome ones got messy even though she's a neat person too. Made me cringe! And don't even get me started on what would happen if your palette drops on the floor!

So if you're looking forward to trying different shades of products, you can try opting for value sets instead! The products are individually packed in small containers, so nothing gets mixed up. Value sets also mean you can later purchase full sizes of products. However, if you just HAVE to have that new palette, go for it!

The Body Shop Delipscious Tinted Lip Balm in Papaya

I've recently been craving fruit-scented products, and Papaya was definitely NOT one of the flavours I was looking for, but I did love the tint of the Delipscious Papaya TLB by The Body Shop!

The pretty silver tube made me want it even more!

The lip balm has a papaya scent, which adds a sense of warmth when wearing it. It looks bronze in the tube, but wears pretty sheer, and just adds some silvery shimmer to the lips.

The balm isn't too moisturizing, it just coats the lips. The balm gets off the tube pretty easy, so it's difficult to twist it back into the tube, which is a disappointment!

Overall this was a miss. I wouldn't buy it again, but it was okay to try!

A New Year's Resolution: Nail Art

This year, I've decided to start practicing nail art on falsies (false nails). I hate doing them on my own nails since it makes using my hands difficult, thus the falsies! For the time being, I've done three very mediocre nails, but it's a start!

For the first nail, I used pink nail polish as a base, silver as a lower divider and purple for the lowest divider.

For the second nail, I've used blue glitter polish as the base, and then some silver to create a lining on top, topped off with white flower nail stickers.

For the third, I just went crazy and mixed red and sheer gold polish together, and then poured metallic stars and hearts all over the base! Then I simply pressed the embellishments down to create a pretty, spazzy nail!

My new year resolution (well, one of them anyway!) is to dedicate some time and resources to nail art. I'm hoping to have lots of pretty designs by the end of this year!

Do you like nail art? What are your views on it? Please share in the comments!
